Scandalous

We toss the phrase around too easily: "Jesus died on the cross for you." Great — but what does that actually mean? What does it imply? Why did Jesus have to die at all? And why should the cross do two things at once in us — humble us, while also filling us with gratitude and overwhelming joy?
