Paradise Found

Belinda Carlisle sang "Heaven is a place on earth" — but Scripture actually calls us to bring the Kingdom of heaven to earth, something our culture has largely detached from. William Wilberforce warned that Christians who stop thinking about the world to come become ineffective in this one, and C.S. Lewis put it simply: aim at heaven and you'll get earth thrown in; aim at earth and you'll get neither. Right now, people are already getting glimpses of hell in this life — the question is whether we're giving them glimpses of heaven instead. That starts with the best things this world has to offer, and the reminder that heaven is infinitely better still. But it all comes back to one thing: how you get there is faith in Jesus, and what you experience is shaped by what you do with that relationship.
