What does it mean?
Baptism says, "I am with Jesus"
Since the very beginning of the Church in Acts 2, baptism has been the defining moment when a believer steps forward and says, “I am with Jesus.” We practice baptism by immersion, following the example Jesus Himself set and the command He gave. The Greek word used throughout the New Testament for baptism is baptizo — meaning to plunge, dip, or immerse — and that act tells a powerful story. Going under the water represents the death and burial of your old self. Coming up out of the water represents resurrection — a new creation, alive in Christ.
